More details

We are Cooksongold, and we’ve been proudly supporting jewellers since 1918, with everything from precious metals to jewellery tools. We are part of HM Precious Metals, one of Europe's largest refiners and processors of precious metals.
Based in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter with a store in London’s Hatton Garden, we are a friendly, well-established and expanding business of 270 dedicated employees.
We are highly rated by our customers – we were awarded a Feefo Trusted Platinum Service Award in 2024 and 2025, and we recently won Jewellery Supplier of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards 2025.
It’s an exciting time to join us! We are continuing to invest in our jewellery operation and explore new markets for precious metal.

The Role
Are you a natural leader with a passion for people, retail and creativity?
We’re looking for an experienced Store Manager to take charge of our Birmingham store, overseeing day-to-day operations, leading a talented team and driving growth in the UK’s leading jewellery-making supplies store.
If you have knowledge of the jewellery trade or precious metals, that’s a bonus, but what matters most is your enthusiasm, commercial mindset and hands-on approach.

What You’ll Do
Deliver outstanding store performance:
•Oversee all aspects of store operations, ensuring a seamless customer experience and consistent achievement of sales targets.
•Create exciting in-store promotions, inspiring displays and engaging events that drive traffic and sales.
•Manage key security and metal-handling procedures with precision and care.

Lead & inspire your team:
•Motivate, coach and empower your team to perform at their best, building a positive and creative working culture.
•Champion continuous development, encouraging your team to grow their skills and confidence.

Innovate & drive growth:
•Implement fresh ideas and new technologies to enhance efficiency and elevate the customer experience.
•Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Manage performance & profitability:
•Set and manage annual budgets, tracking store performance through data-driven analysis.
•Control costs, maximise margins, and identify new ways to grow profitability.

What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience in retail management or store leadership.
• Strong people and communication skills, with a flair for motivating others.
• Commercial awareness and confidence working with sales targets and budgets.
• A proactive, hands-on approach - ready to roll up your sleeves and make an impact.
• Knowledge of the jewellery trade or metal pricing (advantageous, not essential).

Benefits
We offer a well-balanced working environment with a competitive salary package and excellent benefits which support employees at every stage of their career.
If you are passionate about people and looking for a role where you can make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!
