We are looking for an experienced Melthouse Team Leader to lead and manage a team in melting and casting sheet, wire, tube, rod or grain to the agreed quality standards, timescale and budget costs. This is a practical team leader role, meaning you will actively carry out melting and casting tasks whilst being responsible for the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring production targets are met, stock is controlled, and all team members are trained, motivated and working safely.
Your duties will include:
- Using static and continuous casting machines and techniques to produce sheet, wire, tube, rod or grain products.
- All products produced are identified with alloy and bar numbers.
- Assay samples are taken and correctly marked for analysis to check conformance.
- Lead, motivate and support staff to ensure high performance and teamwork
- Drive continuous improvement within the department, working closely with the CI team to identify and implement process and efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with the Production Supervisory team to coordinate daily operations, resolve issues quickly, and support continuous improvements in efficiency, quality and safety.
To succeed in this role, you should be able to lead and motivate a team of employees and have previous experience within a production/manufacturing environment, preferably as a team leader or supervisor.
